For the first time, submitting your plugin to WordPress plugins directory may be difficult since you are not used to it yet. Here, we will break down the steps to do that. This tutorial is actually for Windows users since we will use Subversion for Windows platform.

Here are the steps:

  •
To ensure everything is done correctly. Visit your SubVersion URL ( http://svn.wp-plugins.org/your-plugin-directory/ ) and ensure the your files were uploaded successfully and listed there.

After committing the initial trunk or tags, the WordPress plugin repository takes some time to update. After that, head over to your plugin’s URL at the plugin directory ( http://www.wordpress.org/extend/plugins/ [your-plugin-directory]) and see if everything in your readme.txt file is appropriately displayed. If you need to make changes to the readme.txt file, simply edit it locally and right click the file and hit SVN Commit.

If all goes well, you should now see your plugin at the front page of the WordPress.org plugins directory page.
