If you get this error messages when creating an account with cPanel:

Account Creation Status: failed (Missing HOMEDIR Config Line in /etc/wwwacct.conf, please reconfigure with Edit Setup.)
Missing HOMEDIR Config Line in /etc/wwwacct.conf, please reconfigure with Edit Setup.

You can simply configure it from the WHM setup page:
Main -> Server Configuration -> Basic cPanel/WHM Setup

The following is the configuration setting that needs to be setup:
Default Home Directory
* Enter the location where you wish for new users' home directories to be created. By default all directories matching the "Home Directory Prefix" are checked for available disk space and the directory with the most free space will be used.

Example: /home
