When Google announced the retail availability of their new Chromebook today at Google I/O, they also announced two hardware partners who would be making Chromebook right out of the gate. The first of those partners, is Samsung.

On the Google Chrome website, you’ll find Samsung’s Chromebook without a real name. Amazon, however, is listing several different configurations, all under the “Series 5″ name-tag. You can get Samsung’s Series 5 Chromebook in two different colors, white or “titan silver,” and with or without US 3G.

According to a combination of Google and Amazon, the specs on the new Series 5 Chromebook include:

  • Intel ATOM dual-core Processor N570 1.66Ghz
  • 12.1″ LED (WXGA) 300 nit Display at 1280×800
  • 1 Mega Pixel HD webcam
  • 16GB, Solid State Drive (mSATA)
  • 3.26 lbs / 1.48 kg
  • 8.5 hours of continuous usage
  • Built in dual-band Wi-Fi and World-mode 3G (optional)
  • Noise cancelling microphone
  • 2 USB 2.0 ports
  • 4-in-1 memory card slot
  • Mini-VGA port
  • Fullsize Chrome keyboard
  • Oversize fully-clickable trackpad (which has been totally revamped)

As far as pricing and availability is concerned, you can buy a Series 5 Chromebook starting on June 15th from Amazon or Best Buy for $429 (WiFi version) or $499 (3G, which includes 100MB of Verizon data a month).
