Termites of panama was famous as the animal with the fastest bite record holder among the other animal on earth. Although this animal has a small body, termites of Panama (Termes panamensis) scored the fastest bite record of all animals in the world. The jaws capable of biting prey at speeds up to 70 centimeters per second.
In fact, to record the fast movement of this panama termites, the researchers need a camera with the ability to record images 40 000 frames per second. Panamanian termites bite their prey using a pair of tweezers in a scientific jaws that often called as mandible.
Many insects are moving faster than the ability of the human eye to see, so we know that we need high-speed camera to record their behavior said Marc Seid of Tropical Research Institute Smithsonian that reported his findings in the Current Biology Journal edition of 25 November. Nevertheless, he admitted to not think as soon as it bites Panamanian termites.
With a fast bite, insect prey may be consumed in a single attack. Quick bites are also a means of self-defense because the small body size, termites of Panama must find a way to produce a large energy to fight his enemies.
large claws and fast attacks are effective for close combat. It always do with his enemies because more termite roam the narrow channel and not enough space to move.
They seemed to save his energy in the mandible but we still do not know how they do it. That becomes the next question,? Other researchers said Jeremy Niven
