Children ages 4 years – 1st grade may participate in Prime Time. Prime Time is our children’s church program held each Sunday (excluding the first Sunday of the month so that children may partake in Holy Communion) during the 10:55 worship service. Children will go to the sanctuary with their parents for the opening part of the service and will then be dismissed to go to a special time in the Children’s Building.
During Prime Time, the 4 year olds enjoy a Bible Story, activities to aid in teaching, and an arts and crafts project. Each Sunday a pamphlet is sent home with the children so that the learning can be continued at home. This pamphlet will have the story that they covered and activities that you can do at home to remind the children of the things that they learned. You are sure to be impressed with the amount of detail that each child can retain through this fun filled, educational time spent in Prime Time.
Children ages 5K & 1st Grade participate in a very special program called “Godly Play” during their time in Prime Time. In Godly Play, children are encouraged to experience the Bible Stories in a way that they feel most comfortable. In this Montessori- style teaching environment, the children are introduced to the story by a story teller and then they can respond to that story in a variety of activities that include art projects, block play, modeling clay, and several others as an act of worship.
Both groups of children are dismissed immediately following the “Children’s Message” in the worship service and can be picked up immediately following the service in the Children’s Building.
