Thank you for visiting our site!

We are very pleased that you are on our website and hope that you plan or already have visited us for one of our worship experiences.  Stop by our Hospitality Desk just outside the worship area and one of our persons there will be happy to assist you with any questions you may have or give you directions that you might desire.  You are always invited to come by our church office at any time and one of our staff members will be happy to talk to you and provide information to make your time at HUMC as comfortable as possible.  If you would like to telephone our church office, you are invited to talk to our staff contact person for our newer visitors.  Please call:

What should I wear?

Whatever you feel comfortable in.  From the start, we want you to know that HUMC cares about what you are on the inside, not what you look like on the outside.  Persons dress from very casual to coat/tie, with the greater percentage being in between with business casual.  So this means wear what you feel comfortable in, as we want you to be happy, welcomed, and right at home.

Where do I park?

We are fortunate to have ample parking spaces on both sides of our church for those who attend.  We have visitor parking space marked on the North Entrance of our church (entrance closest to flags), noticed soon after you enter that drive.   Also, there are handicapped parking spaces on both sides of the church, close to our entrances.

Where do I go once I am inside?

Our door greeters will be happy to help you find your way to our worship area as well as our Sunday School classes.  Also, they will direct you to our nursery if you have infants or toddlers.  We have a very warm church family, and you will experience this if you ask any person you meet a question you might have once you

Will I be asked to identify myself as a visitor?

No, certainly not.  You will not be asked to introduce yourself, wear a special nametag, or anything else that might embarrass you.  We do have a time of greeting in the service, and for the most part you will not be known as a visitor because of the size of our worship services.  Although our members and those who regularly attend wear nametags if they so desire, not all of these wear them.  We do, however, want you to know that we will be ready to connect when you are.  All persons are asked to sign in, and if you desire us to contact you, you can inform us on the sign-in card.

What should I do with my children?

Our nursery is located in the newer building that is located by entering the South Entrance.  As you enter the glass doors under the awning, you will be met by persons who will direct you to the nursery for our children ages 1 – 3.  You should be able to easily find the nursery information on our home page.

Which worship service is right for me?

We have two worship services, one at 8:45 a.m. and the other at 10:55 a.m.  These are both traditional services with a slight touch of blend during the greeting and congregational chorus that we sing each Sunday.  The main difference between the early and late service is the addition of the Chancel Choir and Children’s Time in the 10:55 a.m. worship experience.  The choir and children add more of a festive dimension to this service.

What can I expect during a worship service?

•    First, the focus is going to be on God, so do not think you will be embarrassed or pressured to give money or to join the church.  Therefore, relax and focus on experiencing worship.

•    We will be singing songs from the hymnal provided to express our love to God, and you can sing as a means of worship to God from you heart.  We do have one chorus that we will sing that is printed in the bulletin midway through the service.  The chancel choir is present for the 10:55 a.m. worship.

•    You may also see Christian sacraments such as baptism (infant or adult) or communion (regularly on first Sunday).

•    Our pastor will share a relevant message and most often teaching notes will be included in the bulletin along with the Bible verses that pertain to the message.

•    Our service will be concluded in one hour.

Are you going to ask me for money when I attend?

We do take an offering during each worship service, but as our guest your presence is your gift to us.  If you choose to give an offering, we thank you for your blessing to God’s work through the ministry of our church.
